Homework
Please encourage and support your child to read. Reading will help them in all areas of their education. They can read a mixture of fiction and non-fiction books as well as comics, graphic novels, newspapers, factual magazines, etc. They will also be provided with an Accelerated Reader book to carry to and from school each day. The quizzes are available online and can be done at home as well as at school.
- We send homework home each week to the whole year group.
This will take the form of one Maths sheet and one double sided Reading Comprehension sheet which will be handed out each Monday for the children to complete at home with the support of parents. - A copy of the answers will be uploaded to the Google Classroom on Friday to assist with any misconceptions.
- Work returned completed and marked will be awarded dojos.
- In the new year, we will adjust our homework expectation in preparation for the transition to secondary school and start giving out nightly homework. We will provide you with more information about this process as the time grows nearer.
- Year Six is a vital stepping stone in your child’s journey towards secondary school and beyond, and we look forward to working in partnership with you to make that journey as successful as possible.
